Prof Susanne Becken is the Director of the Griffith Institute for Tourism and specialises in sustainable tourism with a particular focus on resource use, climate change, and environmental monitoring. She founded the Global Sustainable Tourism Dashboard – the only global tool to track tourism’s contribution to the SDGs. Having published widely with over 100 academic outputs, Susanne also works closely with industry and Government, for example through her roles on the Air New Zealand Sustainability Advisory Panel and UNWTO Panel of Tourism Experts, and partnerships with the China Tourism Academy, EarthCheck, Sydney 2030, Amadeus, and WTTC.
